A Phone Cover Really Worth the Cost

Over the course of a phone life, the phone, especially expensive smart phones, like iPhone, Samsung and HTC, etc., may end up costing much money. Besides the cost on phone accessories including phone cover, dirt-proof plugs, phone sticker, etc., there is a cost on the repairing of the broken parts of your devices.

The most commonly seen types of phone damages are the ones as follows:

Water damage. 

Actually, for those two kinds of damages, ordinary phone cover does not work well in shockproof and waterproof. But many case suppliers or manufacturers claim that their protectors are in good performance against nearly everything. For example, Lifeproof brand, which is relatively cheaper, costing around 20 dollars, claims to be waterproof, snow-proof and shock-proof. As far as I know, our phone will still be damaged by water. It can not be used when diving.

But based on the research in phone brands, Otterbox and Griffin offer best protection for your mobiles. It claims that it is waterproof up to 6.6 feet, dust-proof and drop-proof. Working well in protection, it is expensive for ordinary people. A Otterbox case for iPhone phones varies from $89.95-$100, which means a lot for a middle-end phones. 

As a result, people who would like to pay such high cost are usually workers in construction sites or are fond of outdoor sports, like climbing, camping, etc. Those people tend to be a real “dropper”. 

The weakness of heavy duty cases, like Otterbox, UAG, Griffin, etc. seem bulky. A ordinary pocket is not able to hold such a big object. 

As the times go on, more and more people tend to care about the appearance of their cellphones. 

According to a web survey, among smart phone owners, 75% of them would like to put a “cloth” on their phones, saying that their devices suffer much less wear in such protective “coat”; 33% iPhone users and 23% Android users do like have a case on their phones, arguing that cases add to much bulk to the phone; 22% iPhone users and 32% Android users say “I’m not worried about dropping/damaging my phone”; 24% iPhone users and 14% Android users claims “I like the look/design of my phone without a case”; 19% iPhone users and 15% Android users do not use cases covers because of high costs. 

Actually, nowadays, the cost for a good cover is far less than the cost on repairing. For example, the replacement of a screen has a higher price than a case. So a case, to some extent, worth the cost. Many people would like to pay the cost.
